On a recent Livestream chat the subject of protein came up so I thought I'd share the latest information I have found. In the UK, adults require 0.75g protein per kg of bodyweight according to the RNI ( Reference Nutrient Intake ) For example someone weighing 70kg would need approximatley 52.5g of protein daily. And as we get older we need more, because protein intake becomes even more important for reasons related to ageing well and longevity. For those over 65 it's 1.2g per kg of body weight. Protein can come from any source, animal, fish or plant. It is also vital to add in resistance based exercise - our workouts are perfect for this. The combination of these two things will have a huge effect on your wellbeing, health and fitness long term.
So calculators at the ready! Do work out what you need and then start looking at how you can increase it to the required amount. I can tell you it is always more than you think! And if you want to try one of my resistance based workouts with weights click HERE ❤️
