Slow living is about pressing the pause button and embracing a more relaxed pace of life, particularly as the summer transitions into autumn. No matter where you are in the world, you can take this approach for a happier, healthier lifestyle. It's about appreciating the changing seasons, savoring the last of summer's bounty, and preparing for the cozy evenings of fall.

This month, I want to encourage you to intentionally create a more relaxed pace and mindset. Focusing on rest, reflection, and enjoying the present moment rather than rushing through activities or feeling overwhelmed. This can involve stepping away from the usual hustle, prioritizing self-care, and reconnecting with loved ones or hobbies.

Here are some ways to slow down in August:

1. Embrace Nature:

Spend time outdoors, whether it's hiking, biking, or simply relaxing in a park.

Engage in gardening or other nature-based activities.

2. Prioritise Rest and Reflection:

Take breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge.

Reflect on what you need more of, what you can let go of, and what would bring you peace.

Schedule time for activities that bring you joy and rejuvenation, like reading, writing or napping.

3. Connect with Loved Ones:

Host gatherings or spend quality time with family and friends.

Strengthen bonds and create lasting memories.

4. Disconnect from Technology:

Set aside specific times to power down your phone and disconnect from digital distractions.

Reclaim your attention and focus on the present moment.

5. Engage in Hobbies and Passions:

Revisit old hobbies or explore new ones that spark your interest.

Engage in activities that bring you joy and a sense of flow including our Pilates sessions of course! Here's a session I created especially for this month. Quick enough that everyone has time to do it, but slow enough that you can focus mindfully on enjoying the movement.
