Unveiling My Journey: A Deep Dive into Who I Am

Updated: 3 days ago

I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself to you and tell you a little bit more about me.

First the Pilates Bit:

I’m a Certified Pilates Instructor of 15 years and teach Mat and Equipment Pilates- that includes small equipment and the big pieces of kit such as Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Armchair. I trained in Classical and Contemporary Pilates and teach both. I completed my certification (500 hours ) in a Sports Injury Clinic in London working alongside Physical Therapists and referrals from Orthopaedic surgeons. I’m fascinated in the science of body and mind and bring BOTH of those elements to my classes.

Since COVID I have taught exclusively online @youtube and now have 310K Subscribers who enjoy my free weekly workouts. I believe in helping everyone - fitness is not exclusive to age or ability- so you’ll find sessions for all ages and all abilities on my channel. In addition to my original training, I’ve continued my professional development and am now a Certified Master Instructor. Adding, along the way additional certifications in Pelvic Floor Health, Pilates for Mature Clients, Injuries and Pathologies, Neck and Face, Pre and Post Natal.

I wrote my first book ‘The Little Book of Pilates ‘ in 2023 which is a pocket guide to the Matwork repertoire and am working on my second book now. Full details to be revealed at a future date 😊

Now, the non- pilates bit. I trained as a dancer. Too tall for ballet I worked as a showgirl age 17-21 in the traditional definition ‘a young woman who sings and dances as part of group in a musical show.’ I did some acting too but found the world of showbiz very daunting as a naive 20 something so decided it was best to move on. I got a job as a secretary in Broadcast Television, and studied at night school to become a broadcast journalist eventually getting a break as a researcher on Live TV. I always wanted to work in film, so alongside my day job I trained in digital camera skills and started shooting bits and pieces in my spare time for the company I was working for in London. This lead to my first role as a documentary director. I continued to direct documentaries and factual entertainment programmes for British Television for 10 years before returning to movement as a Pilates Coach. But one day I’ll direct again. ❤️
