Pilates Fashion- The One-Piece - A Surprising 80's Comeback!

Now I remember wearing these back in the 80's when I was a teenage dance student running around London auditioning for West End Shows! Ease of movement was key as a dancer and unitards ( or catsuits as we called them ) were both cheap and easy to throw on for the day. Now, it seems the unitard has undergone a rather fabulous makeover and become Pilates High Fashion, and I’m finding myself falling in love again with the comfort of wearing one. It’s ideal for exercises where keeping a close eye on your form is imperative – so perfect for Pilates. And the beauty of a good one-piece lies in its coverage: no exposing your midriff and no hitching up leggings after doing roll-ups! I have found a few I like but they vary in price so do shop around. In the picture I am wearing one from Topissima - a Portugese company that makes them from fabric recycled from plastic water bottles. These unitards look great, have built in bra support and they're good for the planet too. They are expensive so worth watching out for their sales, I bought mine half price in a sale last year. The Sports Edit also sell sustainably made unitards like THIS ONE from Girlfriend collective.
